About us

We are a group of free-flight enthusiasts in Kingston, Jamaica, and are trying to create a paragliding community in Jamaica. We fly all year round on weekends from the Skyline site on the outskirts of the Jamaican capital or Malvern Hill near Treasure Beach and would like to get more people involved in this fantastic recreational activity.

We also have a facebook group which is open for everybody interested in paragliding in Jamaica. (We just keep the former wordpress blog as a legacy.)

How it all began?

In 2001, German paragliding instructor & cross-country expert, Claus Vischer, visited Jamaica and helped us to find launch sites. A spot on Skyline Drive near Kingston seemed ideal. It was probably the first time that paragliding was witnessed here.

Since 2008 we offer instruction for beginners (ground school, groundhandling, towed flights at Caymanas Polo field, altitude flights from Malvern Hill and Skyline) and grant USHPA P1 & P2 licenses.

Note: Paragliding is not a sport that you should try without proper instruction. As in other adventure sports, certain skills need to be learned prior to practicing this sport safely and in order to continue to enjoy it. If you want to find out more about it, come to the UTECH sports field on weekends and watch or talk with the pilots to get a first-hand impression about this wonderful gentle and at the same time breath-taking way of life.
